Job Description

The Political Affairs Officer position is based in the Office for Disarmament Affairs (ODA) in Geneva. In this role, you will lead the Implementation Support Unit for the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW), ensuring the effective execution of its mandate. You will coordinate secretariat services, support the Chairs of CCW bodies, advise states on disarmament, and monitor developments related to conventional weapons. Your responsibilities also include analyzing political events, preparing reports, maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, and participating in relevant conferences. This position requires a Master’s degree in a related field, at least seven years of relevant experience, and fluency in English, with knowledge of another UN language being beneficial.
