Job Description

The CCAC National SLCP Expert will play a vital role in supporting the Government of Iraq in incorporating key short-lived climate pollutant (SLCP) actions, including methane, into its updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) by 2025. This position involves enhancing the capacity of mitigation sectors within climate policy, and developing a strong platform for NDC updates and implementation phases. You will collaborate closely with the CCAC Secretariat, international experts, and the Ministry of Environment. This role is based in Baghdad, Iraq, and will last for 9 months. Ideal candidates will have advanced degrees in environmental sciences or related fields, at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and fluency in English and Arabic.
