Job Description
The position of Senior Statistician within the African Centre for Statistics at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team focused on improving statistical data quality across economic, infrastructure, environment, and agriculture sectors in Africa 🌍. You will guide innovative methodologies, develop predictive models, and support national statistical offices 📊 while ensuring data consistency and accuracy through cutting-edge technologies. This role includes managing projects, preparing technical documents, and advising senior management on trends in statistics 📈. Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field, have over ten years of experience in statistical analysis, and possess strong leadership and communication skills 🌟. Proficiency in English or French is essential, with knowledge of another UN language as an advantage.
