Job Description

The Human Rights Officer will work in the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) within the Thematic Engagement, Special Procedures and Right to Development Division. This role involves supporting the Director and coordinating human rights projects, ensuring alignment with strategic management plans, and monitoring the implementation of international human rights initiatives. Key responsibilities include collaboration with various branches, integration of human rights perspectives in programs, data collection and analysis for informed decision-making, and training of junior staff. Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in law, political science, or related fields, along with at least seven years of relevant experience. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of other UN languages is advantageous. 🌍✊
