International Consultancy to support an upgrade of the Background Assessment Concentrations and Environmental Assessment Criteria related to IMAP Common Indicator 18 (Level B)

Job Description

As a consultant for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), you will focus on enhancing Background Assessment Concentrations (BACs) and Environmental Assessment Criteria (EACs) related to IMAP Common Indicator 18 for the Mediterranean Sea 🌊. This six-month home-based role involves reviewing scientific literature on biomarkers, collecting and analyzing data, and proposing new criteria to improve environmental monitoring and assessments. Your contributions will support the implementation of pollution management strategies and help maintain the health of marine ecosystems 🐠. Candidates should possess an advanced degree in marine or environmental science, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and strong analytical skills. Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of French being a plus.
