Job Description

The Legal Consultant with a Human Rights Focus on Environmental and Social Safeguards will play a key role in supporting Colombia’s Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development in implementing REDD+ social and environmental safeguards. This position involves providing legal analysis, developing policy recommendations, and ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks, especially related to Ruling T-248 of 2024 🌿⚖️. The consultant will collaborate with various stakeholders, document rights issues affecting local communities, and contribute to regulatory processes while fostering interinstitutional coordination and grievance mechanisms 🔍🤝. Working full-time in Bogotá, the consultant should have a background in law or environmental sciences and experience in stakeholder engagement and human rights protection 🌍📋.
