National Consultant – Legal Consultant
Job Description
We are seeking a Legal Consultant to support the UNODC Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) in enhancing efforts to combat maritime crimes in the Indian Ocean region 🌊. This role involves creating training materials, leading workshops, and collaborating with experts to improve participants’ knowledge of legal frameworks, specifically regarding trafficking, organized crime, and maritime law ⚖️. As part of your responsibilities, you will report on training outcomes, provide detailed assessments, and ensure that all necessary materials are submitted promptly. The position is home-based with potential travel to various locations including Bosasso and Nairobi 🗺️, and runs from August 2, 2025, to November 30, 2025. To qualify, candidates must hold an advanced degree in law and have at least 7 years of relevant experience, including familiarity with international law and strong communication skills 🌍. Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of another UN language is a plus.
