Job Description
The Office of the Ombudsperson, established through Security Council resolutions, is looking for an exceptional individual to oversee the review of petitions from those seeking removal from the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List. As the Ombudsperson, you will conduct thorough analyses, engage with various stakeholders, and present comprehensive recommendations to ensure justice and due process 🌍. This position, based in New York, is expected to open in October 2025 for a 12-month term, with a potential extension. You should have a strong background in law, particularly in international criminal law or counter-terrorism, with over 15 years of experience, and possess great professionalism, communication, and judgment skills ✍️.
