Job Description

We’re looking for part-time language teachers πŸ‘©β€πŸ« at the Language and Communications Training Unit! Your main responsibilities would be preparing and delivering lessons for assigned courses, grading tasks and tests, observing student progress and suggesting useful learning strategies 🎯. You might also be involved in developing language skills projects. While your work base could be New York or work remotely πŸ’», contracts are limited to 9 months within any 12 consecutive month period, correlating with the language learning calendar and assigned courses length.

As a unit working within the Department of Operational Support, we strive to promote linguistic balance and strengthen language abilities of staff in six languages 🌎. Additional part-time teachers are needed to meet the demand for language learning that cannot be addressed by our staff teachers. You might also collaborate in language projects such as designing new courses and materials πŸ’‘.

Requirements: You should hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in language area studies, language teaching, applied linguistics, communication or education/pedagogy. Having a minimum of five years of experience teaching Arabic as a foreign or second language to adults is a must, with at least three of those years in curriculum development and language examination design πŸ“š. A familiarity with e-learning tools, learning management systems, online collaboration tools and social media platforms for teaching language is advantageous.
