Part-Time Language Teachers (Russian)
Job Description
The Language and Communications Training Unit is looking for a Part-time Russian Language Teacher πΌ to join our team either in New York π or remotely π». The position involves providing top-notch Russian language instruction to adult UN staff, preparing and delivering lessons, providing timely feedback, and assessing students’ progress on a weekly basis. You’ll also develop, perform, and grade a variety of evaluation tasks, and be hands-on with course-end final evaluations and student attendance tracking. We encourage engagement in language and communication skills projects for those interested. The contract will last for up to 9 months within a 12-month span and correlates with our language learning calendar π .
As part of this key role, you’ll be part of improving linguistic balance within the Secretariat, contributing towards the development and delivery of curriculum, and exploring innovative instructional technology to facilitate learning.
Our ideal candidate has an advanced degree π in language area studies, language teaching, applied linguistics, communication, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years experience in teaching Russian as a foreign or second language in a multicultural environment. Familiarity with e-learning tools and online collaboration tools, and an expert level of Russian comprehension and excellent command of English are also a must.
