Job Description
As a Western Balkan Projects Coordinator π, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in driving environmental initiatives across the Western Balkans. Your main responsibilities will include coordinating and managing multiple GEF-funded projects focused on biodiversity conservation, sustainable land management, and climate action. You’ll work closely with national officers, stakeholders, and various partners to ensure effective project execution while identifying new opportunities for synergy within UNEP’s broader portfolio. With oversight from the Head of the UNEP Vienna Programme Office, your tasks will involve engaging with local communities, preparing technical documentation, organizing stakeholder meetings, and facilitating collaboration among diverse entities. This position is office-based and will last for 12 months, requiring strong project management skills and a deep understanding of environmental issues in the region.
