Job Description
We are looking for a Consultant to conduct a technical study on the economic costs of wildfires and agricultural fires in Latin America and the Caribbean 🌎🔥. This role involves analyzing the triple risk posed by wildfires, focusing on carbon capture loss, emissions, and the removal of nature-based solutions benefits. Your work will align with previous recommendations from CEPAL on resilient climate economics and sustainable development 🌱. This position is home-based and expected to last for 5 months. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Economics or related fields, have at least 5 years of professional experience in forestry, agricultural economics, or climate change, and possess strong data analysis skills 🧮. Fluency in Spanish is required, along with working knowledge of English; knowing another UN official language is a plus.
