Job Description

The Chief of the Vehicle Regulations, Road Traffic Safety and Transport Innovations Section will lead and oversee the work of this vital unit, based in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of the Sustainable Transport Division of the UNECE. Reporting directly to the Chief of the Division, this role involves coordinating with various working parties, providing policy direction, and ensuring the successful implementation of vehicle-related agreements. The incumbent will work on enhancing vehicle safety, environmental performance, and intelligent transport systems while advising on international cooperation efforts. A strong background in mechanical engineering, vehicle regulations, and management is essential for this position, along with excellent communication skills in English and preferably knowledge of another UN language.
