Climate-Smart Agriculture Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified international consultant for the position of Result of Service to develop effective, climate-resilient strategies for agriculture and food security in the Abyei region. 🌱 The consultant will analyze the local agro-ecological conditions, agricultural practices, and climate challenges, such as flooding and drought, to identify practical, adaptive agricultural options. This position is home-based and has a duration of 2.5 months (July-September). The ideal candidate should have an advanced degree in a relevant field and a minimum of ten years of experience in sustainable agriculture, particularly in fragile environments. Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of Arabic or experience with Dinka-speaking communities would be advantageous. The consultant will operate under the supervision of the EU-UNEP Climate Change and Security Partnership Programme Manager.
