Job Description

The consultant will play a vital role in preparing for SBSTTA 27, focusing on scientific and technical needs for implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework 🌍. Based in Montreal, this position is set for 14 months, with the first contract lasting five months from July to November 2025 and a second nine-month contract from February to October 2026. Key responsibilities include providing technical support to the Secretariat, enhancing accessibility to scientific tools, and compiling important input from Parties and organizations related to biodiversity ⚙️. Applicants should have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, with at least two years of experience in research, writing, and project management. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of additional UN languages is a plus 🌐. Please note that only Canadian residents or those permitted to work in Canada are eligible for this role, and local travel may be required.
