Job Description

The Environmental Engineer will play a vital role in rehabilitating the Kiteezi Dumpsite in Kampala using the Fukuoka Method, a technique aimed at stabilizing landfills and minimizing environmental hazards like methane emissions and leachate contamination. This six-month project, conducted in collaboration with UN-Habitat and KCCA, involves assessing the site, designing sustainable engineering solutions, and training local teams to ensure effective waste management. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in environmental science or a related field, with at least two years of experience in solid waste management and landfill engineering. Fluency in English is essential.
