Job Description

The Human Rights Officer position is available in the Americas Section of the OHCHR in Geneva, where you will work under the supervision of the Chief of the Section. Your key responsibilities include analyzing human rights information, drafting reports, and monitoring the implementation of human rights instruments. You will also engage with various UN bodies and NGOs to integrate human rights into regional programs, ensuring gender perspectives are considered. This role requires strong professionalism, communication skills, and the ability to plan and organize effectively. An advanced degree in a relevant field and a minimum of seven years of experience in human rights or related areas is essential.
