Job Description

Looking for a chance to make a difference at a global level? Join us as an intern at the French Verbatim Reporting Section, Meetings and Publishing Division, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM) in New York! 🌎🏙️ Your primary duties for your two-month internship (which can be extended) will be translating English verbatim records into French (your main language), transcribing/ reviewing French transcriptions, testing out technology like speech-to-text, and carrying out other related tasks. 💬🖥️

You can work remotely or in person, full-time (5 days/40hrs per week), under the supervision of the Verbatim Reporting Section Chief. We welcome candidates from any educational background; whether you’re currently studying for a graduate degree, in your final year of your undergraduate degree or you’ve just graduated. (If you’ve graduated, your internship needs to start within a year of your graduation). 🎓 No work experience is needed – we’re more interested in your education, training, coursework and skills that you can use to contribute to our work.

You need to be fluent in both French and English, and any additional languages (particularly official languages of the UN: Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) would be a nice bonus. 🗣️ Remember to show us that you take pride in your work, are a reliable team player, have strong communication skills and are eager to learn new technologies. 💡 Please note, our internships are unpaid and any travel, visa, accommodation and living expenses will be your responsibility.
