International Consultant- Expert on Adaptation and Loss and Damage (Biennial Transparency Report (BTR))

Job Description

We are seeking an International Consultant to prepare the climate change impacts and adaptation chapter for Qatar’s first Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) under the Enhanced Transparency Framework. This position is home-based and expected to last for 8 months. The consultant will work closely with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and UNEP ROWA to collect and analyze data, draft sections on loss and damage, and document national circumstances concerning climate adaptation strategies. A strong background in environmental sciences or related fields, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience, is required. Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential.
