Part-Time Language Teachers (English)
Job Description
As a Part-time Language Teacher at the Language and Communications Training Unit, you will be the architect of knowledge and skills for UN staff members. You’ll plan and conduct English language lessons, provide tailored feedback, and track students’ progress on an ongoing basis. You’ll also have the exciting opportunity to participate in language or communication skills projects, ensuring quality deliverables by your given deadlines. The location is flexible, you can either be based in New York or work remotely. This part-time contract runs for 9 work months within a 12-month period, closely tied to our language-learning calendar. You must hold an advanced degree in a relevant field, such as language teaching or applied linguistics, and boast at least 5 years of experience teaching English in a multicultural setting. Expertise in English according to the UN Language Framework is essential, and knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage. In this role, you can truly contribute to the UN’s goal of linguistic balance and multilingualism within the Secretariat.
