Job Description

The Senior Population Affairs Officer will be an integral part of the Demographic Analysis Section within the Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). This role involves providing strategic policy guidance and managing various population-related work programs, including preparing population estimates, projections, and conducting studies on demographic trends. You will lead a team, oversee database development, manage budgets, and represent the Division at international meetings. Strong analytical skills, teamwork, and leadership abilities are essential, along with a relevant advanced degree, and at least ten years of experience in population analysis.
